Note from Mal: Apologies it has taken a couple of weeks to
transcribe Charlie's letter.
It won't happen again ... promise :-)
THE DERBY
SHOW
On Wednesday 22nd November Al Rayment and Big John
Beeching visited me to fill me in on the Derby Show and I
was impressed. Both Al and John done me proud as always.
I’ve also had a lot of letters and photos of the show and my
family were also spoiled rotten by all my friends …
especially Gary White, Mark Fish and Dave Courtney.
I want to thank you all for supporting me and showing your
respect. I’m very proud of the event and it’s definitely
raised awareness to my fight for freedom.
The speeches made were brilliant, especially Al Rayment’s
and Big Tony Simpson’s … fucking awesome … and I heard all
about Jim Dawkins’ speech. That man never lets me down – he
is a solid mate!
I was right proud of Andrea Clay for turning up with a
broken toe. That sums her up – 200% loyal to my fight. Sure,
lots didn’t turn up. Some had good excuses; others were full
of shit … you get that in life. No big loss. We don’t loose
sleep over dreamers.
I remember once, years ago, a so called pal wanting to come
in on a blag with me. All he had to do was drive. The slag
drove alright … he went without me!!! He left me in the
middle of the road with a shooter and a bag of loot, but
that’s show biz for you - not all actors are Robert de Neros!
It’s the same with villains. Some are solid, some are soft,
others are just total wankers.
It was sad that Joey Pyle couldn’t make it, but I actually
told him not to go as he’s not well at all. Joe would go to
the Moon to back me … and everyone knows it too.
Good old Roy Shaw done his bit. He always does. A very good
mate .. The Best!
Tel Currie is another one who never made it, but then he IS
on crutches and suffering. Tel’s had a lot of bad luck
lately, but he WILL bounce back up … he always does. A Top
Fella!
I was made up that Raymond Kray made it. He’s proved himself
to me time and time again. You’ll all remember him on the
Parliament roof protesting with my son, Mike. I don’t ever
forget such loyalty and max respect to the man. There is
only One Ray Kray!
Nice to hear that Ray Williams made it too. Ray and me go
back forty years. Yeah, forty fucking years! Even “Joe Boy”
made it from Scotland and my mates The Swellbelly Band.
Respect!
The Outlaws done me proud. They are the bollocks … Men of
Honour!
Most of my family made it and had a great time. Mark, my
brother, couldn’t make it but was there in heart.
I could go on and on and on, so I’ll just say thank you to
all of you who went. But it wouldn’t have been possible
without Mark Fish, Gary White and Dave Courtney, so three
cheers for the Three Musketeers:
Hip, Hip, Hooray!
Hip, Hip, Hooray!
Hip, Hip, Hooray!
I heard that Danny Hansford was there with my movie
director, taking names and photos for potential actors for
the Bronson movie. They start filming in February 2007. It’s
all cut and dry, so I hope lots of you get a part in it …
especially Stu Cheshire, Chris Reed, Tony Whiting, Tony
Simpson, Andrea Clay, Ray Kray, Darren McDade, Mark Sharman
and Mal. I hope you ALL get a part in it.
I heard about the snakes that Big John brought along. Glad I
wasn’t there or I’d have eaten it with some chips.
I’m so pleased that Giovanni’s son Michael turned up.
Respect to him. Pity Richard Charlton, my ex-lawyer, never
turned up, as there was a big crowd there dying to chin him.
Everyone knows what a traitor and coward he became. The
entire prison system will give him a wide berth after what
he has done to me. It’s unacceptable behaviour. There is no
excuse for what he done. What lawyer leaves a client in a
hole getting bashed up and does nothing to help … not even
visit me. My family and friends all say the same thing: he’s
a coward. He even blanked their phone calls telling him to
get off his arse and do something. Slag!
The next show will be in London and it will be massive
around February 2007. After that one (if not before) I
should be free. If not … well, that’s life. But the fight
continues. But one sure thing: when I do walk free I’ll be
fighting for Ronnie Biggs to follow. That you can bet your
arse on! In fact, I’d stay in jail to serve Ronnie’s
sentence if it meant that he could walk free. I’d do that
for him. That’s how much I feel he’s being inhumanely
treated. It’s fucking barbaric what’s happening to Ron. A
right fucking liberty.
Cuba, Russia, China, Iraq … we need to look at the UK. Our
system is worse and it’s getting more and more secretive.
Once you’re stamped as “political” you are branded for life.
They don’t want you to leave prison … unless it’s in a body
bag.
Oh well, that’s my lot. Thanks again to everybody. I salute
you all!

PS Did you see that Michael Stone storm the Irish
Parliament? He had an imitation gun! Can you believe it? And
two unarmed guards overpowered him … and one of them was a
woman. Am I missing something here? It don’t add up to me,
unless Stone has lost his marbles ... or did he have any to
start with?
