 'SOLITARY
FITNESS'
By Charlie Bronson ... Out 19th January 2007!!!
And first, a word from Charlie:
Oh
well ... this is what you've all been waiting for. All those
mince pies and cakeS over Christmas and now it's time for a
reality check.
This is the book that can and will get you into shape. Men
and women. Old and young. It's in the shops on the 19th
January 2007 at only £7.99. Why the fuck don't they just say
8 quid? Why mess about with a poxy penny? I can't work that
one out! And, after all that Mal tells me that
Amazon have it at £6.39!
Anyway, don't just read it ... DO IT! Work at it! Make
2007 your year of Fitness, Health and Strength!
It's all in here, all you ever need to stay fit. It's my
"Life Survival Guide." Diet, exercise, mental strength,
power! Only today (4th January 2007) I pushed 92
press-ups in 30 seconds!!! Who else can do that? 92 in
30 seconds! That's supernatural speed. It's actually mental
... insane ... but it's what I do best; it's what I've
achieved through blood, sweat and more blood.
I push myself to the limit. It's an inner strength, a belief
in myself that's soul-deep and now I'm letting you guys and
ladies into my world of Solitary Fitness. You don't need
steroids or pills or expensive kit. You don't even need a
gym. So you actually save dosh by doing it my way. My way is
not a rip-off.

This new improved version includes new chapters, including
one by Alan Rayment. Alan is a double amputee confined to a
wheelchair after he succumbed to MRSA. But in 2003 he met
Charlie, who has become his training mentor and inspiration
and is responsible for Al's tremendous fitness. In November
2005 he completed a grueling 300 mile trek from Vietnam to
Cambodia for charity, raising £28,000 for a children's
charity. He's planning to do a 925 mile hand-cycle from
Land's End to John O' Groats next year to raise more funds
and will be using Charlie's methods to train for the event.
Any press that would like an interview with Alan, please
email him at

WHAT THE PAPERS SAID ABOUT THE ORIGINAL
VERSION
Men's Fitness Magazine November 2002
A lot of credible info...
The Times October 2002
Prisoner who keeps in good nick...
The Scotsman October 2002
Standing five feet ten and a half inches tall and weighing
210lbs, he is renowned for his strength. He has bent metal
cell doors with his bare hands and does up to 3,000 - yes,
3,000 - press-ups a day. As he puts it: "I can hit a man 20
times in four seconds, I can push 132 press ups in 60
seconds."
But judging by our current obsession with health and
exercise, Solitary Fitness might be the book which will see
Bronson’s face sitting on every coffee table in the land. He
might be the man to give us the dream body which so many
so-called fitness gurus promise but fail to motivate us
into. Because Bronson has learned to use words as powerfully
as he can use his fists.
"All this crap about high-protein drinks, pills, diets, it’s
just a load of bollocks and a multi-million-pound racket,"
he writes, in what can only be described as a refreshingly
honest style. "We can all be fat lazy bastards, it’s our
choice, I’m sick of hearing and reading about excuses, if
you stuff your face with shit you become shit, that’s
logical to me."
As motivational mantras go, that might be just the kick up
the, er, backside we all needed.

WHAT THE PUBLIC SAID ABOUT THE
ORIGINAL VERSION
MY NEW HONED AND TONED BODY, 18 Nov 2004
Well, what can I say now that my body isn't carrying much
fat! I began this course some two months ago and gave it my
all, followed every routine religiously and now I have
reaped the rewards.
This regime of workouts is an inexpensive way of toning and
honing your body. I can understand how some people might
fall by the wayside when it comes to this sort of strict
workout, but you have to be tough in yourself. And like the
cliche, softies need not apply, this applies equally as well
with this mode of body workout that sculptures you from head
to toe.
So here I am, brand new and ready to pursue the rest of the
course with gusto. I really have a lot to thank Mr Bronson
for, although I'm sure he would rather be free in order to
pursue his own dreams.
My whole way of eating has changed, which came about
naturally and without any applied effort. Years of fat
buildup dropped away to reveal my old self beneath. I really
look forward to the exercises and feel that I now have more
energy, although at first I felt very tired after each
exercise routine.
True, this is not a workout for wannabe body builders. It
is, though, a practical way to tackle and change your
unhealthy lifestyle, which it has done for me.
punchy book, 17 Jun 2004
this is the only training book I have ever read. from the
outset Bronson pulls no punches- try this for a first line-
"I pick up a muscle mag, I laugh out loud and then I wipe my
arse on it- it's a rip-off, a con and they call me a
CRIMINAL!"
This book has immense spark and energy. For a person like me
who is more interested in fitness than strength, it is
invaluable. Bronson is never afraid to speak his mind,
dissing steroids, £300 trainers ("they won't give you
strength- you're being mugged off big-time, can't you see
it?") and weight mag posers in a punchy style.
There is sound advice too on diet, enemas, and even fasting.
I particularly liked this book for it's vim. Bronson is good
at motivational talk. most of all tho, it's the funniest
book I have read in months.
Exceptional Material - Astonishing Value, 4 Nov 2003
I have been training for 20 years mainly for a number of
sports including Judo, Rugby League, Cross Country Running
and Fell Walking. Over the years I have bought many books on
fitness, weight training and sports conditioning.
When I first saw this book I bought it mainly out of
curiosity, but as I read the book it became apparent that I
had seriously underestimated the quality of the material
therein.
I started to follow the 'Solitary Way' training plan 10 days
ago and I have been amazed by it's suptle power. It has
increased my strength, stamina and posture as well as
helping me loose 2 kilos of body fat. I feel sure that I
will ultimately build a training program around Bronco's
system combined with Cross Country Running, the man himself
sadly has no opportunity for outdoor pursuits.
Whilst the Exercise plan itself forms the heart of the book,
there is a great deal of other material in the book directed
at healthly living, good diet and advanced conditioning. All
in all it represents stunning value for money, and whilst it
is a rough diamond of a book (like it's author) it is the
single most useful fitness book I possess.
Bronco Fitness, 4 April 2003
Well, I've been lifting weights for approximately 7 years
and doing other sorts of fitness and strength training such
as kicknoxing for about 2-3 years but this book gave me a
new change of direction.
It's good both for experienced and inexperienced people,
it's basically about getting back to basics. I didn't
particularly like some of the exercises, but I guess this
book is based around having no equipment, but I did like the
methods of training and quite a few of the basic exercises
such as burpees, squats, press ups, etc. and some of the
techniques.
It's not an encyclopedia of fitness or anything like that,
it's aimed at people who are looking at getting fit without
going to a gym, with the added bonus of having no equipment
requirements.
Well worth a read, especially for £8. If nothing else,
Bronco's drawings and stories are worth a read!
This book is far better than the 'SAS fitness' type ones I
have seen, it focusses more on the exercises and is good for
people who want to exercise and more experienced people
looking at getting back to basics or a change in training
routines.
The best ...[money]... you could spend on fitness?, 16
Jan 2003
If you are interested in getting fitter and stronger and you
have little experience with exercise, and/or a tight budget,
this could well be the book for you. Charles 'Bronco'
Bronson delivers straight forward, easy to follow
instruction on basic strength and endurance building
exercises that can be done without any expensive equipment.
Covering some basic warm-ups, staple exercises, nutrition
and general health (as well as a lot more) the book is well
structured and clearly (if not brilliantly) written. There
are useful black & white photographs and some great original
artwork by the man himself to illustrate the techniques
required.
If you are approaching this book with a background in health
& fitness, particularly weight training/bodybuilding, this
book may not be for you. Although I'm sure at least some of
the information in the book could be useful to anyone at any
level of fitness, the Solitary Programme isn't (by Bronco's
own admission) for budding Arnies. The aim of the book is to
instruct an individual (male or female) on how to build a
fit, strong, functional body - not necessarily a body that
will win bodybuilding competitions.
If you do have a background in weight training/bodybuilding,
you may find some of the information a little basic for your
needs, but it is easy to be critical. At the end of the day,
the proof is in the pudding, and Charles Bronson is a
phenomenally strong man (I once saw a TV documentary which
described how he threw a fridge freezer UP a flight of
stairs!) and it is documented in the book how he punched
through bullet proof glass! (and he does have witnesses!)
To sum up - if you are looking to win Mr (or Miss) Universe,
then this probably isn't the book for you. However, if you
are looking to build a strong functional body and improve
your sense of wellbeing on a tight or non-existent budget,
this could be the best ...[money]... you'll ever spend.
Loaf says (19 April 2007)
I'm
a supporter of Charlie's fight for fair punishment and
freedom. I've read many excerpts from his website and
purchased his book "Solitary Fitness". His holistic approach
to working out and health in general totally shocked me. Id
never seen anything like it, I've worked out with weights
before and even did some powerlifting, but the way he lined
it out turned my entire idea of strength and fitness
training upside down. I'm giving it a shot and am really
amazed Id say at the results I'm getting from the routine so
far. This book, given enough exposure to the general public
and enough open minds of people to evaluate what they think
they know could totally change the world. Charles Bronson
has my respect as thinker and a teacher. |
