THE brother of violent inmate Charles Bronson has been banned from seeing him.

Mark Peterson, from Aberystwyth, said the ban stemmed from him speaking to the press. Mr Peterson is keen to see his 57-year-old brother, dubbed “Britain’s most violent prisoner”, given parole so he can have a chance to rehabilitate himself.

The 49-year-old old oil rig worker said: “The prison authorities say I’ve been banned from seeing my brother because of media involvement.”

A prison service spokesman said: “In accordance with the approved visitors scheme for category A prisoners, prison governors have the discretion to withdraw the approved visitors status from anyone for whom it is no longer considered appropriate.”

Meanwhile, Bronson is said to have had a fight with a prison guard dog that officers sent in an attempt to calm Bronson down.

A Prison Service spokesman said: “A prisoner was involved in a minor incident in the gym association area. A member of staff and a dog accidentally sustained minor injuries.”
