Hard man UK prisoner, Charles Bronson, steps in to give moor's murder vicitim's mother a happy Christmas with £1,000 cash from a fund he helped set up to help the needy. A babies hospice has also been sent £600.

Winnie Johnson the mother of moors murder victim, Keith Bennett, has been the recipient of a Christmas windfall thanks to UK hard man prisoner Charles Bronson instructing his ‘Bronsons Children Fund’ to issue payments to Mrs Johnson as well as £600 to babies hospice Zoe’s Place based in West Derby, Liverpool.

The fund was set up by Bronson in order to help certain causes and previously it has helped Mrs Johnson with telephone bills and travel & hotel costs. A bashful Mrs Johnson was handed the money from Bronson’s close friend, Ray Williams, who was acting on his friend’s behalf when he handed the £1,000 over to Winnie at her home in Manchester.

The secretary of Bronsons Children Fund, Steve Richards, sent Bronson’s wife, Saira, a cheque for £1,600 drawn from the fund in order to fulfil Bronson’s wishes.

Bronson has been condemned by the press for his consistant taking of hostages within prisons in the UK and to date he has served 28 years behind bars, 24 of those served in solitary confinement.

The fund is helped along by contributions from the public and profits from his artwork and books he writes relating to his experiences behind bars.
