ABSOLUTE 100% BOLLOCKS
An Open Letter To The Daily Mirror

Yesterday The Daily Mirror printed a story about Charlie.
The story was an "Exclusive" by Jeremy Armstrong
(
jeremy.armstrong@mirror.co.uk - PLEASE FEEL FREE TO
EMAIL HIM YOUR THOUGHTS ON HIS PIECE OF GARBAGE) and claimed
that the whole of HMP Wakefield was put on ALERT because
they believed Charlie was going to make an escape bid on his
birthday. Please read the "article" first:

The whole article is based on the story of "an insider!" We
all know what that usually means! Well, first of all, let's
look at the FACTS:
A routine inspection of the CSC building found that the
catch which opens and closes the glass window to Charlie's
cell was worn and needed replacing. This was done without
any fuss ten days ago. There was NO suspicion that this was
to be an escape attempt by Charlie. Why? Well, I'll tell
you. Charlie's window does, indeed, open onto the exercise
yard; that's about as close to the truth as the article
gets. However, it is a small letterbox type window and opens
close to the ground, as Charlie's cell is, for the most
part, below ground level. It consists of a glass window
which can be opened by Charlie to ventilate his cell.
However, inside the glass window are a series of heavy
vertical iron bars. If the whole glass window fell off
Charlie would still not be able to get out through it!
"Bronson ... would only need to scale a wall to get his
first taste of freedom since 1974" Ha ha ha! First of
all the exercise yard is on the inside of the CSC unit, so
after scaling the 14 foot high razor-wire topped fence
surrounding the yard and breaking through the steel netting
that covers it, Charlie would find himself in the very heart
of the prison complex looking at Wakefield's famous Mulberry
Bush rather than the WALL. Secondly, get your facts straight
Armstrong: Charlie was last free in 1992.
We find quite a few factual inaccuracies in this bit of
"reporting."
-
WE have already
established that Charlie DID NOT fight 12 guards
three weeks ago. He was taken down by a Pava spray used
by 20 Tornadoes (the National Tactical Response Group -
NTRG).
-
He was jailed for armed
robbery in 1974 NOT 1969.
-
He has had 121 days of
freedom since then ... NOT 69 days.
-
Charlie did NOT
change his name to honour the actor, it was a simple
commercial decision to pull in the crowds (and increase
his purse) by his boxing manager; and Charles Bronson
was the THIRD name they considered after discounting two
other actors' names.
-
He was last jailed
in 1992 NOT 1974.
-
"... was told he must
serve life." Yes, he was sentenced to life ...
BUT with a THREE YEAR TARIFF, which
you totally ignore with your assertion in order to make
Charlie sound worse!
-
Charlie does NOT
put his art on canvas.
-
Charlie has NOT
refused to see psychiatrists recently.
I am absolutely disgusted by
the total disregard for the truth by Jeremy Armstrong
in his fairy tale! This just shows the unprofessional level
to which British tabloid rags have sunk in their "reportage"
in their quest for SENSATIONAL stories! No interest in the
truth whatsoever and certainly no semblance of humanity for
the effect that their lies have on the lives of those who
cannot answer back!
I was contacted by a reporter
from The Star a couple of weeks ago. He wanted to print the
truth about the Tornadoes episode and asked my permission to
use some of my quotes. He did say, however, that the story
might not read quite how we would like it to as it was
going into a tabloid paper. But needless to say, you never
read that story in the Star. Do I have to say any more?
Jeremy Armstrong you
have some arrogance calling yourself a reporter, and to
the editors of The Mirror: you should be absolutely
ashamed of yourselves for printing such drivel. You
should be ... but I know that you have not an ounce of
compassion or integrity when it comes to what you put in
your RAG!
I'm sure that
jeremy.armstrong@mirror.co.uk would love to hear
your views on his piece of FICTION aimed at mis-educating
the public and ruining Charlie's chances with his Parole
Hearing in 2011.
